Pregnancy & Birth Teamwork

“If you are pregnant or know someone who is – you need to talk to these remarkable women. You owe it to yourselves to get as much information and support as you can. Asking Jordan and Amy to help me with our second child’s birth was a no brainer to me as soon as I found out I was expecting. They started by asking questions, answering honestly and openly, and getting to know me. We walked through the experience together to find out what I needed for my birth plan and how I could be supported. I always felt comfortable with Amy and Jordan and wasn’t shy to ask them questions. They supported me no matter what I decided to do when it came down to my birth plan. Jordan was on call for my birth. I got through my unmedicated birth with her by my side. Later that evening, I heard from Amy wishing me congratualtions on our surprise baby girl. It’s hard to explain how much their unconditional support means to me. I still talk and text with Jordan and Amy. They always seem to know when I have questions or need a pick me up.”

Jordan

“Before becoming pregnant, I didn't even know what a doula was/could provide for me. Now-- I have no idea how my husband and I would have managed without one. Jordan, our doula, was ALWAYS available through my entire pregnancy and now even after delivery. Anywhere from advice on diapers, breast feeding, types of car seats, and registry lists-- she always had great insight. My delivery was not as I had planned, my blood pressure was elevated- so the doctor wanted to induce.. this was something I had originally not wanted to do and became very emotional. Jordan listened to my concerns and helped me with the doctor to do the right thing for the baby. Whether you are planning a natural birth, c-section or epidural, Jordan will support you. I HIGHLY recommend her.”

Amy

“When Amy met me at the hospital, she was amazing. She did everything in such a sweet way, requesting a basin for applying cold compresses, talking me through the medical jargon, and finding other ways to soothe me through my labor. Because of the nature of my labor, she didn’t have the opportunity to guide me through different positions and such, but she provided immense emotional support and was frank with me about the reality of it all. I am so grateful for the way she spoke to me about the reality of where my labor was headed and how I could prepare for that. She was amazing and I don’t think I could have gotten through it all without her steadying presence. Once our baby was born, Amy was so good about making sure we were all set and then quietly leaving us to bask in our baby. Throughout it all, Amy was wonderful and it was a true gift to have her there.”

Postpartum Teamwork

“Jordan and Amy are my postpartum doulas. I honestly don't know how I've gotten through the past couple of months without them. Everything from being available right when I needed them after we brought our baby home, to checking in on me on their days off, and the personalized care in between. When they walk into my home, my morning instantly feels lighter. Making sure I'm showered and fed is important to them. Making sure my baby is cared for while I'm taking care of myself is important to all of us.I trust them. I know they care about my daughter. It's hard to put into words how equally incredible Jordan and Amy are as a team and as individuals. You just have to experience it. From the words of my husband, ‘You smile more on the days they’re here.’ He's right. I do.”
